I was surprised that the cops are actually enforcing this in Utah.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I am amazed of the sheer ignorance of this law. One left lane violator actually confirmed our suspected asshat behavior...
Paden Bigelow said, "I was in the farthest left lane and a car, a cop car, pulled up behind me and I didn't yield over and so I got pulled over."
He admitted, until then, he didn't know about the law, "I just thought 'Oh I'm not going above the speed limit so I don't have to move' so I didn't."
Although it's such a widespread epidemic that I don't think it's making much of a difference. I'm at least glad someone gives a shit.
Also while your at it, enjoy some Priest

Now if we could just get some a-holes consistently pulled over for passing on the right.

I've also spotted a few UHP cars on the side of on-ramps, to pull over people who are merging too slowly. What really drives me nuts are the divided highways outside of the valley, where there are "keep right" signs every 5 miles or so. There are still people who hang out in the left lane.

seriously. this is one of the most dangerous highway behaviors i see. and it happens with such frequency up here in the crowded northeast because there's lots of cars, and people don't move over, and everyone's meeting/trip to the drug store/dropping kid off at hockey practice is more important that everyone else's meeting/trip to the pet store/dropping husband off at AA meeting.

That's the kicker: everyone is more important that everyone else, ad infinitum. Before I left Washington for the last time ever someone told me "Washington is a fine town as long as you assume that everyone you see is more important than you."
Know what enduring and decent idea Tommy Magliozzi had? 35mph speed limit. Everywhere. OK, too extreme? Make the freeways the
only
roads that can exceed that.

Only if people start moving out of the left lane. I have no problem with people passing on the right if the person refuses to move over.

oh washington. there was never a town where i found it easier to go home with a different girl every night. i guess everyone else was too busy worrying about how important they were rather than actually being interesting.

Good for Utah.

I've yet to see that enforced, but will be watching for it. I also don't see the regulation about no trailers in the left two lanes (HOV and next over) enforced as every bro-dozer with a boat love to hang out in that lane.

I wish every state would do this, especially for tractor trailers. Having 10 cars lined up behind a tractor trailer merging onto the interstate at 35 mph is one of the most dangerous driving situations that exists. Speed does not kill, speed differentials do.
